Cleaning out my closet
Wednesday, July 1, 2009
Papers strewn around.
I look everywhere
Flying bottles of ink
I never knew I had.
some old pictures,
flashes in my eye as I see them -
An image of that picture
That makes me look sad.
Averting my eye I attack another pile
Only to find
Some more rubble
Once so precious,
Now I cant remember
What is what
Why I kept it at all.
Oh there! I see it.
No it wont do.
Uhh! I have to get up now.
Dress and go out
For as long as I try
I am never going to unearth
That one Passport size pic
I set out to find
That’s what this expedition
Was all about.

Even if I don't find what I'm looking for, it is still rewarding to have my closet cleaned out. It happens so rarely. ;)

Love the part about not remembering why you kept it at all. Until recently, I had shoeboxes full of stuff that fit that description. Nice piece. Happy 4th!

Happens all the time with me and bro. We'll never find the thing we are searching for. And our attention keeps getting diverted to other stuff we find on the way that we had forgotten. Each time it would be my grandma who'll remember where we had kept them.
Nice poetry. I love it. :P

This reminds me of a writing piece I did that described an old lady's attic. It was dusty and she did not bothered to go to the attic and clean it.
